Take a look...
There Was An Old Woman
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe.
She had so many children, she didn't know what to do;
She gave them some broth without any bread;
Then whipped them all soundly and put them to bed.

The Purple Cow
I never saw a purple cow.
I never hope to see one.
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one!
Racism
Mary Had a Little Lamb
Mary had a little lamb,
little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,
whose fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
and everywhere that Mary went,
the lamb was sure to go.

Little Boy Blue
Little boy blue
Come blow your horn
The sheep's in the meadow
The cow's in the corn
Where is that boy
Who looks after the sheep?
Under the haystack
fast asleep.
Will you wake him?
Oh no, Not I
For if I do, he will surely cry.

I love this post! It so weird that the last line of "The old woman..." is "she whipped them all soundly".
ReplyDeleteI love this post, too. It is really strange that I know so many by heart but never noticed the oddness in the words...Makes you think!
